Background
The Pinnacle Learning Trust was established in September 2017, through the long-standing, strong and effective relationship between The Hathershaw College and OSFC (Oldham Sixth Form College), with Werneth Primary School joining the Trust in February 2019. Broadfield Primary School joined in April 2023, following recent DfE approval.
We have established the Trust in order to build upon our shared belief that young people should have access to excellent educational provision and to provide new and additional ways in which we can further improve on our strengths and provide support to other schools and colleges, both within and beyond the Trust.
This firm belief in the power of collaboration means that when the time and fit are right, we hope to welcome more academies into the Trust so that they too can benefit from our extensive experience and contribute to strengthening our offer for young people in all phases of education.
Our Trust also has a strong reputation for the provision of outstanding professional development and benefits from being a key strategic partner and operational lead in our local Teaching School Hub, (East Manchester Teaching School Hub) in addition to OSFC having Research School and Google Reference College status and being a Science Learning Partnership Satellite Hub. Our expertise in professional development is invaluable to staff and students in every one of our academies, in addition to supporting improvement beyond the Trust and providing fantastic development opportunities for our staff team.
We are incredibly proud of our influential group of schools and colleges. We have gone from strength to strength since we were established in 2017, and know that our approach has seen improvements across the board. Rather than rush expansion, we have taken the time to create and establish the right systems and processes to ensure progress. As a result, we are a group of schools and colleges that can only be described as thriving.
